Bellevue Blast 2000 won all three pool games on Saturday night to be the second seed in Sunday’s 18u Gold bracket. The first game against Havoc was a blow out for Blast, but the next two against good pitchers were tough come-from-behind wins that showed that tough practice makes a tough team. Enjoy the pictures from Eric Chen.
The 2018-2019 had a fast start on the first day of the Acers Invitational this past weekend with two wins and a tie to be the #1 seed in the A pool. Team speed and aggressiveness in the field and on the bases was evident as Blast 2000 scored 34 runs over 4 games. Samantha Simmons (2HR) and Noelle Thomas (1HR) lead the way with 7 RBIs each. Team OBP was .495 and OPS was 1.119.
Speed at the top of the order created problems for other teams as the top two in the order took extra bases, then power from the middle of the line up brought them around. Annie Fowler led all pitchers with a 1.235 ERA with 2 strikeouts and only 1 walk in 5.2 innings.
Look forward to an exciting 2018-2019!

Six players worked to impress college coaches playing on different teams on Wednesday. Ren was on field 5 in the third base dugout playing against Holly, Noelle and Annie in the first base side. On field 6, Ariana and Sam Simmons were together on the first base side.
All played well and were rewarded with several interested coaches who plan to come to games over the next couple days.
Maddie Rowe, Cece Robbins, Taylor Woodey, Sam Mutolo, and Bethany Mitchell received tokens of appreciation for the past year on Bellevue Blast. Bethany and Maddie will finish the summer season with Blast at USA Preps in Palmdale next week, while the team bid farewell to Cece, Taylor and Sam as they prepare for their next challenge.
The team was undefeated in pool play on Saturday setting a high for wins and run differential, but stumbled in the first game of bracket plan on Sunday. Look forward to USA Preps next week in Palmdale July 19-22.
