Bellevue Blast 2000 won all three pool games on Saturday night to be the second seed in Sunday’s 18u Gold bracket. The first game against Havoc was a blow out for Blast, but the next two against good pitchers were tough come-from-behind wins that showed that tough practice makes a tough team. Blast 2000 has fast start at Acers
The 2018-2019 had a fast start on the first day of the Acers Invitational this past weekend with two wins and a tie to be the #1 seed in the A pool. Team speed and aggressiveness in the field and on the bases was evident as Blast 2000 scored 34 runs over 4 games. Samantha Simmons (2HR) and Noelle Thomas (1HR) lead the way with 7 RBIs each. Team OBP was .495 and OPS was 1.119.
Speed at the top of the order created problems for other teams as the top two in the order took extra bases, then power from the middle of the line up brought them around. Annie Fowler led all pitchers with a 1.235 ERA with 2 strikeouts and only 1 walk in 5.2 innings.
Look forward to an exciting 2018-2019!
